Chenin Blanc • Vin de France
Le Masque celebrates the colourful carnival that takes place near The Midi vineyards where the Chenin Blanc for the wine is sourced from. Its origins are thought to lie in the 14th century and every year troupes of artists, musicians and masked pierots parade through the streets.
The wine was inspired by the Chenin Blancs that come out of the Loire Valley. However, true to the rebellious nature of Le Chai, the grapes for Le Masque are from the south of France, rather than where you might expect. In the Loire, this variety produces terrific whites – from simple Anjou to Saumur and Savennières – and we have set out to craft our own challenger to their crown.
Now matured in a brand new concrete egg tanks to further increase the richness and texture of the wine.
Gorgeously crisp, minerally fresh Chenin Blanc with lots of lemony vitality and mineral hints.
